We are looking for a skilled Electrical/Controls Engineer to lead control system innovation in the food manufacturing sector. In this role, you'll set and implement standards that shape the future of our automation processes, drive project success, and advance control capabilities across our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and refine site-wide standards for control design and safety, supporting project teams from planning to execution.
- Program and operate across Allen Bradley platforms (RS Logix, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View ME) to maintain automation standards.
- Configure and monitor Allen Bradley/ABB VFDs, network switches, and process control components.
- Oversee building automation systems, including HVAC, environmental chambers, and ventilation.
- Partner with engineering teams to develop long-term capital plans, optimizing automation and power distribution for performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Drive plant-wide control initiatives, covering HMI, VFDs, and servo controls to enhance system capabilities.
- Deliver technical support and solutions for system upgrades and control software maintenance.
- Provide early project estimates and collaborate on Front-End Loading (FEL) efforts to ensure scope and design clarity.
- Review design documents for control wiring, safety circuits, and performance standards, offering technical input and peer feedback.
- Act as a technical liaison, supporting project teams on-site during startup phases and performance improvements.
- Work alongside technical and procurement teams to manage supplier relationships and deliver cost-effective solutions.
Ideal Qualifications:
- BS in Electrical Engineering with 3-7 years of experience in electrical and control system design.
- Strong background with Rockwell/Allen Bradley platforms and programming (RSLogix5000, FTView).
- Skills in network integration, including PLCs, HMIs, and CIP protocols.
- Effective communicator and leader in a matrixed team setting.
- Experience in food manufacturing or design within this space is beneficial.
