About the Role
Our client, a leading player in the FMCG industry, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Logistics to spearhead the design and optimisation of the logistics network between their factories and distribution centre's across Germany. This is a pivotal leadership role where you will be instrumental in shaping the supply chain strategy to ensure seamless, cost-effective, and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Logistics Network Design: Develop and implement a robust logistics framework connecting factories and distribution centre's, optimising routes, transportation modes, and costs.
- End-to-End Supply Chain Management: Oversee the entire supply chain process, from raw material supply at the factories to final product delivery at distribution centre's.
- Operational Excellence: Drive continuous improvements in factory logistics processes, leveraging KPIs and industry best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams including production, warehousing, and distribution to align logistics strategies with business goals.
- Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with key logistics service providers, ensuring service levels meet or exceed expectations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all logistics operations comply with local and national regulations, particularly in transportation and storage of goods.
- Team Leadership: Build and mentor a high-performing logistics team to deliver operational excellence across the network.
Key Qualifications
- Language Skills: Fluent German and English (mandatory)
- Experience: Proven track record in logistics or supply chain leadership roles within the FMCG industry.
- Technical Expertise: In-depth understanding of factory operations, logistics processes, and supply chain network design.
- Strategic Thinker: Ability to align logistics operations with overall business strategy and adapt to changing market demands.
- Leadership: Strong team leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
