Job Summary: The Procurement Director will oversee the procurement process for all construction projects, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, equipment, and services. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and extensive experience in the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with project goals and company objectives.
- Manage the procurement team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements to ensure the best terms and conditions.
- Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and company policies.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to forecast procurement needs and manage inventory levels.
- Oversee the preparation and issuance of purchase orders and contracts.
- Resolve any issues or disputes related to procurement activities.
- Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, performance metrics, and cost analysis.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, contract management, and supply chain principles.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPSM, CPPB) is a plus.
