Our client is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager with a strong background in product development and sustaining engineering. This role is responsible for leading a cross-functional team in the design, development, and continuous improvement of appliances. The Engineering Manager will collaborate closely with R&D, manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to ensure product quality, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Product Development: Oversee all phases of the product development lifecycle, from concept through production, ensuring that projects meet technical, schedule, and budget objectives.
- Sustaining Engineering: Manage ongoing product improvements, including updates, modifications, and issue resolution to optimize product performance and extend product lifecycle.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain to address production challenges and implement cost-effective improvements.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field); Master's preferred.
- 7+ years of engineering experience with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Proven track record in product development, from design to production, and sustaining engineering within consumer electronics
- Strong project management skills with experience managing multiple projects and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
