Engineering Manager

Job Description:
As the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for advancing strategic and tactical engineering, maintenance, wastewater, and controls solutions to maintain, correct, and improve plant operations. You will lead and develop engineering best practices and standards, ensuring compliance with site safety, environmental, and quality programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure equipment is operational and functionally acceptable to meet the needs of manufacturing, utilities, and wastewater.
- Manage ongoing engineering, maintenance, and controls review, problem-solving, and troubleshooting of plant and wastewater systems and equipment.
- Oversee the operation of the Central Utilities Building and proactively identify opportunities for unit operation optimization and cost reduction.
- Drive capital project completion for process improvement and plant expansion.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality programs and procedures.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Develop and apply advanced theories, methods, and research techniques to solve complex technical problems.
- Collaborate across business units to develop standards.
- Ensure the development of a solid equipment reliability program with appropriate preventive maintenance, calibrations, and spare parts.
- Oversee the utilization and optimization of the computerized maintenance management system.
- Ensure development and implementation of the mechanical integrity program.
- Enforce the utilization of the Pre-Start-up Safety Review process.
- Stay current on engineering knowledge and contemporary industry solutions.
- Develop and oversee the site's Capital Plan to drive continuous improvement and increased supply.
- Perform economic analysis and feasibility studies for new equipment installations or modifications of existing facilities.
- Develop and review cost estimates, consulting with other department managers regarding proposals for capital expenditures and facility repairs.
- Provide technical assistance and information to engineering, consultants, contractors, vendors, and other internal departments.
- Assist in the design of process equipment or systems for optimal performance.
- Oversee implementation and maintenance of IT and controls solutions to support day-to-day operations and facilitate data retrieval for process troubleshooting and improvement.
Preferred Qualifications:
- B.S. in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
- Demonstrated competence and progressive technical experience.
- 10+ years related experience with at least 7 years of leadership experience.
- Project management experience.
