Environmental, Health, and Safety Specialist

About the Job:
DSJ Global is partnered with a leading chemical manufacturing company for health, beauty, and wellness, looking to add an Environmental, Health, and Safety Specialist to the team. The EHS Specialist will monitor EHS plant objectives and targets, support internal reporting of EHS department performance, and ensure plant level EHS programs, policies, and procedures are developed, implemented, and sustained to ensure compliance. This position is responsible for engaging all employees in a strong EHS culture.
Responsibilities for EHS Specialist:
- Grow the site safety culture by motivating and coaching employees
- Drive and promote a Zero Incident culture for all employees
- Lead projects designed to improve EHS programs to reduce risks and achieve business sustainability objectives
- Conduct audits, develop corrective actions, and ensure compliance with EHS programs
- Investigate incidents, determine root causes, and ensure corrective actions are taken
- Analyze EHS data, manage reports, and provide technical support
- Support development, engagement and tracking for leading and lagging indicators relevant to EHS performance
Qualifications for the EHS Specialist:
- 3 or more years of experience in EHS in a chemical manufacturing environment
- Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, and/or a related field
- Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations
- Experience with ISO 14001 and 45001
- Self-motivated professional with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborative approach to problem solving in the development of solutions
