Job Title: Electrical Engineer (Level II or III)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead activities to maintain a safe and healthy work environment for all employees, ensuring compliance with government regulations and corporate policies related to equipment and process design. This includes conducting design safety reviews as needed.
- Develop expertise and provide technical guidance to ensure process designs adhere to sanitary standards and meet customer and business requirements.
- Offer technical leadership in the electrical design of components, equipment, and processes, applying engineering principles, best practices, and procedures.
- Lead and provide technical expertise in driving global continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, cost, and asset management.
- Participate in and lead the development and commercialization of new processes, process improvements, and technical systems to achieve business objectives.
- Offer technical expertise in new process development to support new product initiatives requested by Marketing and Contract Sales Business Units.
- Foster strong relationships with key equipment suppliers, ensuring the company maintains a technical edge in the industry.
- Provide support for global engineering activities, including the engineering budget process, capital budgeting, capital request justification, and management of capital projects.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and ensuring adherence to financial policies, technical guidelines, and internal controls.
- Work closely with the purchasing team to provide equipment specifications, resolve issues related to equipment or parts, and identify cost-saving opportunities with equipment vendors and parts suppliers.
- Communicate effectively with senior leadership, colleagues, and stakeholders, ensuring timely, clear, and complete communication.
Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
- Engineer III: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with at least 7 years of relevant industry experience, or at least 10 years of applicable industry experience with less formal education.
- Engineer II: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent, with at least 3 years of experience, or equivalent skills and aptitude with 6 years of relevant experience.
- Recognized as a technical expert in engineering with broad knowledge relevant to the company.
- In-depth understanding of electrical codes, including NEC and OSHA standards.
- Expertise in the design and specification of complex PLC, servo, and robotic equipment, including proficiency with Rockwell, Allen-Bradley, and/or Bosch/Rexroth programming.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project) and AutoCAD (or equivalent).
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively engage with team members, leadership, and other stakeholders.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously as the lead electrical engineer.
- Ability to obtain a passport and travel domestically and internationally as needed.
