Role Overview:
As the Head of Procurement, you will play a key role in leading the development and execution of procurement strategy, supporting the company's growth and operational goals. You will manage a wide range of agreements, from equipment and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contracts to operational and maintenance (O&M) agreements. Your leadership will drive supply chain efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and strengthen vendor relationships, ensuring procurement operations align with and support the broader organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement a forward-thinking procurement strategy that aligns with growth trajectory and operational goals.
- Create a unified procurement approach across the entire lifecycle, from sourcing to post-contract management.
- Ensure compliance with tax requirements, industry regulations, and laws, while aligning long-term strategies with market trends.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing procurement team, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Provide guidance and support to Directors of Equipment Purchasing and Contract Management to achieve departmental goals and foster team development.
Operational Oversight:
- Oversee procurement operations, including sourcing, contract negotiations, warranty management, and commercial agreements.
- Ensure timely, cost-efficient, and high-quality sourcing of equipment and services.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, industry standards, and regulations.
- Enhance contract negotiation strategies by staying informed on industry trends to secure favorable outcomes.
Risk Management and Compliance:
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize supply chain disruptions and manage contractual liabilities.
- Ensure adherence to legal, ethical, and regulatory standards in all procurement activities.
- Optimize cost, schedule, and contract terms to secure advantageous agreements.
Vendor and Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers and service providers to negotiate beneficial terms and foster long-term partnerships.
- Lead Quarterly Business Reviews and collaborate with senior leadership across departments to ensure alignment with company-wide strategies.
Financial and Performance Metrics:
- Manage procurement budgets, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive data-informed decisions and continuous process improvements.
Innovation and Process Optimization:
- Advocate for the adoption of advanced procurement practices and technologies to improve operational efficiency and scalability.
- Identify and implement process enhancements to strengthen procurement performance and competitive edge.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Support additional procurement, strategic, or operational initiatives as needed to meet business goals and adapt to evolving industry demands.
- Represent the company with professionalism and integrity, building relationships that support company objectives.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Experience:
- 10+ years of procurement experience, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role, preferably within the renewable energy or related sectors.
- Proven ability to lead and manage procurement teams, including strategy development, contract negotiations, and warranty administration.
- Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple teams effectively.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Strategic thinker with expertise in supply chain management, procurement best practices, and contracting.
- Familiarity with legal, compliance, and regulatory aspects of procurement in the energy sector.
