The Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer supports electrical engineering needs at our manufacturing plant, managing projects from analysis to execution. They collaborate with various department staff, contractors, and others to propose and implement solutions for power-related issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure installation and operations meet standards by preparing electrical systems specifications and coordinating activities.
- Perform detailed calculations to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and standards.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving high voltage electrical system problems.
- Maintain up-to-date and organized electrical system drawings and technical data.
- Write reports and compile data on electrical engineering projects and studies.
- Perform engineering tasks using computer-assisted design or engineering software.
- Manage projects from initial scoping to final completion, reviewing contractor plans and schedules.
- Provide preventive maintenance recommendations for plant instrumentation and electrical systems.
- Ensure plant systems meet safety, design, and construction codes.
- Support plant activities during unit outage and turnaround work.
Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
- Minimum 3 years' experience of plant Electrical/Instrumentation/Distributive Control Systems.
- 3+ years experience with rotating equipment reliability programs including Preventive Maintenance
- 3+ years' experience in a manufacturing plant.
- PLC Allen Bradley experience
- HMI Expeirence
- Solid knowledge of NEC, ANSI/IEEE, NESC, NETA, and NFPA standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, design software, Arc Flash, AutoCAD, etc.
- Strong communication skills for presenting data, project instruction, and department collaboration.
- Proven track record of managing projects efficiently and within budget.
