Position Overview:
The Facilities Department Manager will oversee all activities within the maintenance and utilities departments to support plant operations, ensuring the achievement of company goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the Facilities Department to support key functions such as:
- Facility safety
- Capacity assurance
- Production growth
- Quality assurance
- Maintenance of process equipment, including material handling and utility systems
- Efficiency improvements in both production and utilities
- Refrigeration system operations
- Continuous improvement of plant processes
- Develop and implement methods to improve plant utility and production process efficiencies.
- Ensure that all new equipment and utility installations comply with regulatory requirements and align with the plant's strategic goals.
- Enhance process and facility efficiency, minimizing production downtime by implementing predictive and preventive maintenance systems.
- Administer the capital and expense budget for the plant.
- Support the development of all Facilities Department personnel, ensuring proper training to meet organizational needs.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and work rules, including HAACP, SQF, GMP, and SOP.
- Ensure best value in purchasing materials and labor for all maintenance-related projects.
- Ensure the plant complies with OSHA, EPA, BOCA, DEQ, Board of Health, and other federal, state, and local regulations.
- Assist the Senior Facilities Manager with assigned projects and company objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred.
- 5-7 years of maintenance or utility management experience.
- Certification in Reliability Leadership (CRL) or Maintenance & Reliability (CMRP) is a plus.
- Strong project management skills.
- Experience with Oracle EAM or other computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) required.
- Experience in the food manufacturing industry.
- Contractor management experience.
- Problem-solving experience using RCA, A3, 5Why, or similar methodologies.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical information.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present information to all levels of management.
- Analytical and logical problem-solving abilities.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is desirable.
- Process Safety Management (PSM) training or knowledge preferred.
- Experience managing maintenance in the meat industry is a plus.
