DSJ Global is partnered with a top packaging company to hire a Maintenance Manager to lead the service and maintenance team at their Mississippi facility. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe maintenance, repair, and replacement of plant assets while driving continuous improvement initiatives to optimize operations. The ideal candidate will provide leadership, strategic direction, and technical expertise to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency in alignment with company objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead maintenance operations to maximize production efficiency.
- Develop and execute both short- and long-term maintenance strategies that align with company values.
- Establish and implement safety goals and programs to maintain a secure work environment.
- Design an effective Plant Maintenance Program using industry best practices to enhance equipment uptime and reliability.
- Supervise and evaluate maintenance work to ensure the use of modern technology and best maintenance practices.
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess department efficiency and identify areas for improvement.
- Track and communicate performance metrics related to safety, environmental compliance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Provide strategic input in maintenance budgeting, business planning, and forecasting.
- Lead and develop maintenance staff to achieve industry-leading uptime and reliability standards.
- Collaborate with the Plant Leadership Team to align maintenance strategies with overall plant goals.
- Represent Smurfit Westrock in labor union contract negotiations, fostering positive labor relations.
- Ensure compliance with corporate, state, and federal safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Cultivate a culture of engagement and accountability, encouraging active participation from maintenance personnel.
- Provide training and mentorship to maintenance staff, ensuring they are skilled, motivated, and aligned with department objectives.
- Utilize strong problem-solving abilities to make informed decisions while knowing when to seek additional input and consensus.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Required: Associate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: At least 10 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing, with supervisory/management responsibilities (Corrugated Packaging experience preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook), JDE, PLC/DCS, or a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
