Job Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance department during the assigned shift. This role ensures the safe, efficient operation, utilization, and upkeep of all equipment, facilities, and grounds. The Maintenance Supervisor is accountable for the safety, productivity, attendance, and work quality of all assigned electricians and mechanics.

- Supervise Maintenance Technicians, assigning work in a safe, efficient manner and in compliance with union agreements.
- Collaborate with maintenance planners, purchasing teams, other supervisors, and vendors to schedule repairs and routine maintenance of equipment.
- Review and maintain all check sheets and preventive maintenance documentation, addressing action items promptly.
- Ensure that repair and preventive maintenance records are accurately completed according to departmental requirements.
- Monitor the uptime and efficiency of all production equipment, working with maintenance, production supervisors/managers, and plant engineering to drive improvements.
- Qualify employees for various tasks and responsibilities.
- Identify training and skills development needs.
- Inspect work areas, equipment, and tools; provide employee safety training to prevent, identify, and correct unsafe conditions or violations.
- Investigate accidents or injuries and prepare reports on findings.
- Conduct semi-annual performance reviews for Journeyman and Apprentice team members.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance.
- Ability to assess and meet quality standards for services, while focusing on customer satisfaction.
- Skills in performance monitoring and corrective action.
- Understanding of engineering principles, techniques, and procedures for equipment design and production.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, mechanics, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems.
- Strong time management skills, both for self and team.
- Ability to motivate, develop, and direct team members, ensuring the best fit for each role.
- Effective communication skills to convey information clearly to others.
- Ability to apply general rules to specific issues to reach logical conclusions.

Education and Experience Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Prior experience in maintenance leadership is required.
- Experience in heavy industrial manufacturing is preferred.
- Experience in a unionized environment is a plus.
