Position Summary:
DSJ Global is seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Engineer to develop and implement optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications, safety, and quality standards. This role involves recommending and implementing improvements to production processes, methods, and controls, with a strong focus on continuous improvement. The Manufacturing Engineer will coordinate manufacturing launches for new or revised products, prioritize process improvement, problem resolution, project management, and employee training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote safety culture through toolbox talks, safety committee participation, and positive reinforcement programs.
- Research, design, develop, and implement manufacturing processes, including production flow, assembly methods, and production equipment.
- Lead process improvement projects in support of continuous improvement plans.
- Coordinate the manufacturing launch of new/revised products, including setting goals, training team members, and evaluating results.
- Design, develop, implement, test, or source and cost-justify various tools, machinery, and equipment for safe manufacturing methods.
- Perform product/process analysis for safety, quality, and efficiency improvement.
- Maintain the cost of manufactured products by managing routings in the ERP system.
- Conduct internal time studies and validate manufactured processes.
- Support production tooling-related tasks.
- Determine root causes to eliminate safety and quality issues in the manufacturing process.
- Develop best practices for manufacturing methods and standardize across all sites.
- Work closely with quality assurance and maintenance personnel to prevent problems with products and equipment.
- Represent manufacturing and operations on cross-functional teams.
- Participate in and/or lead insource versus outsource analysis.
- Create and update work instructions to document manufacturing methods.
- Prepare and maintain detailed layouts of buildings and equipment.
- Ensure all manufacturing safety regulatory policies and procedures are implemented and maintained.
- Assist in the assessment of vendor/subcontractors and their processes.
- Participate and actively lead kaizen activities and Gemba walks.
- Communicate with management on any machine, maintenance, or engineering tasks that are in jeopardy of missing deadlines.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 2 - 5 years in Manufacturing Engineering
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Skills:
- 2D/3D CAD experience
- Metal machining experience
- Project management experience
- Knowledge of continuous improvement processes
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and oral communication skills
- Self-starter, detail-oriented, and organized
- Ability to prioritize and balance workloads in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting
