Job Overview: We are looking for a dedicated and innovative NPI (New Product Introduction) Product Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and launch of new products, from concept to full-scale production. This role involves working closely with design, production, and quality teams to ensure products meet customer specifications, cost targets, and quality standards. The NPI Product Engineer will be a key player in bridging the gap between design and manufacturing, driving projects to successful completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and introduction of new products from design through to production.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and quality, to ensure smooth product launches.
- Develop and execute project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Evaluate product designs for manufacturability and provide feedback to design teams.
- Oversee prototype development and testing, ensuring products meet performance and quality standards.
- Develop and refine manufacturing processes to optimize production efficiency and reduce costs.
- Analyze production data and implement process improvements for new products.
- Coordinate with suppliers and external partners to source materials and components.
- Prepare technical documentation, including product specifications, work instructions, and test plans.
- Support the transfer of new products to full-scale manufacturing, ensuring seamless integration into existing production lines.
- Identify and mitigate risks throughout the product development process.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in new product introduction, product development, or manufacturing engineering.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of product design, manufacturing processes, and quality control techniques.
- Experience with CAD software and other engineering tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Certification in Project Management (PMP) or Lean Manufacturing.
- Experience in the automotive or aerospace industry.
