About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Operations Manager to lead and optimise our logistics operations in Leipzig. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily warehouse and distribution activities, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and customer satisfaction. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a fast-growing contract logistics company with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day logistics operations, including warehousing, transportation, and order fulfilment to ensure smooth and efficient work flows.
Performance Optimisation: Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to enhance productivity, cost efficiency, and service quality.
Team Leadership: Manage and develop a team of supervisors, warehouse staff, and drivers to foster a high-performing and motivated workforce.
Customer Satisfaction: Ensure seamless execution of logistics services to meet client expectations and service-level agreements (SLAs).
Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean methodologies and best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with local and international regulations, health & safety standards, and company policies.
Budget & Cost Control: Manage budgets, control costs, and optimise resource utilisation to drive financial performance.
Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to develop strong business relationships and align logistics strategies with business goals.
Technology Integration: Leverage warehouse management systems (WMS) and transportation management systems (TMS) to streamline operations.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management within contract logistics, warehousing, or distribution.
Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience in leading large teams.
Proven ability to optimise logistics processes and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience in working with WMS, TMS, and other supply chain management tools.
Knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards in logistics and transportation.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Fluency in German and English is required.
