The Plant Manager position will oversee critical functions to ensure smooth and efficient operations. It involves promoting safety and environmental health, managing budgets and financial plans, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Promote a safe work environment and participate in behavior-based safety efforts.
- Ensure compliance with safety rules and best practices to prevent accidents.
- Address environmental, safety, and health concerns.
- Collaborate with the Finance and Controlling department to develop and manage the site's operating budget and yearly plans.
- Achieve financial objectives by managing expenditures and initiating corrective actions.
- Drive cost awareness and improvements in raw materials, utilities, supplies, and labor.
- Encourage cultural change to increase ownership and responsibility.
- Drive programs for improving production, procedures, and cost control.
- Identify and prioritize technical and process improvements.
- Implement technical solutions for cost savings and reliability improvement.
- Coordinate technical and engineering support requests.
- Oversee quality control and plant laboratories with support from the Quality and Food Safety department.
- Resolve customer complaints and direct corrective actions to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Foster good employee relations and support professional development.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in plant leadership
- Industry relevant experience within manufacturing (chemical preferred)
- Extensive understanding of budgeting processes, cost control and financial analysis
- Knowledge of EHS practices including process safety, quality control and food safety
- Proficiency in technical unit operations and troubleshooting
- Basic PLC troubleshooting experience
- OSHA 30 Hour Certification preferred
- Ability to read and interpret general business correspondence, as well as technical/product information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
