A leading Building Materials Manufacturer is looking for a Product Manager to join their team in Winston Salem, NC. This role is accountable for boosting the sales and profitability of our residential product offerings. This role defines the strategy for the residential product line and acts as the primary liaison and advocate for all residential products for both internal and external customers.
Responsibilities:
- Guide the strategic direction, planning, and management of the residential garage door product line.
- Drive residential product development projects in cross-functional team meetings.
- Collaborate with different departments to determine market-appropriate pricing and achieve company margin targets.
- Develop marketing plans with allocated budgets and timelines to increase sales, profitability, and market share of residential garage doors.
- Conduct market research for existing and prospective residential garage doors.
- Evaluate customer and market trends in the residential garage door industry.
- Suggest product line expansions and discontinuations to management.
- Conduct sales, distribution, inventory, promotional, and ROI analyses for both current and new products.
- Engage in customer meetings or site visits to support new product launches and identify new opportunities.
- Work closely with sales and manufacturing teams to ensure accurate forecasting and production.
- Establish creative guidelines for residential product marketing and coordinate with Marketing Communications staff and external agencies to develop sales support materials and promotional programs.
- Create and manage annual marketing plans and budgets for residential products.
- Oversee residential wind load door programs, coordinating with applications engineering, field service, and sales teams to prioritize and expedite product launches.
- Partner with the Research & Development team on product generational planning, new product development, and ongoing product improvements.
- Develop or coordinate sales materials, tools, and presentations to train field sales teams or builders.
Qualifications:
- A BS or BA degree is required; an MBA is preferred.
- 7-10 years of experience in brand or product management is essential.
- Experience in the garage door/operator or building industry is desirable.
- Strong sales skills with a proven ability to close deals.
- Creative and innovative thinking.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Willingness to travel 10-30%.
