Job Overview
The Production Manager will oversee product manufacturing, quality control, and raw material management across multiple production lines in a 24-hour manufacturing environment. This role also includes employee training, development, and ensuring alignment with corporate goals and operational targets for safety, productivity, and quality. The superintendent will troubleshoot and resolve process issues and may assume plant manager responsibilities in their absence.
Responsibilities
- Supervise manufacturing resources to meet production goals and assist in budget and cost standard preparation.
- Plan and schedule production to ensure maximum equipment utilization and productivity.
- Utilize operational indicators to control product cost, material usage, downtime, and expenditures.
- Support safety improvements and work towards reducing workplace incidents.
- Develop and administer metrics for material and labor usage.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and product specifications.
- Maintain compliance with all legal, financial, and environmental regulations.
- Oversee manufacturing, quality control, and raw material management.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in management, engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of operational leadership experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong supervisory and leadership abilities.
- Experience in leading change and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proven ability to collaborate with leadership teams.
- Strong problem-solving and process improvement skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities.
- Familiarity with SAP or ERP systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Typical manufacturing environment, with potential exposure to various environmental conditions such as noise, heat, and mechanical parts.
