A cutting-edge Aerospace firm is seeking a strong Quality Assurance Manager to become a part of the Operations Team!
This Quality Assurance Manager will implementing Lean improvement practices and achieve ambitious quality goals while developing team talent. The successful candidate will foster a culture of continuous improvement and coordinate efforts across internal and external groups.
The Quality Assurance Manager will have the following responsibilities:
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives in quality, safety, productivity, on-time delivery, and inventory reduction.
- Collaborate with engineering on product development and regulatory submissions (PMA, TSO, TC, STC).
- Apply lean tools/principles and coach teams to enhance performance in a matrix environment.
- Manage a high-performance team across quality engineering, test engineering, inspections, and support functions.
- Implement internal quality assurance systems and provide technical/statistical expertise.
- Identify and eliminate root causes of quality issues in production and supply chain.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Maintain ISO9001/AS9100 documentation and train staff on ISO9001/AS9100 procedures and represent the company in quality audits.
- Lead decision-making processes, act as a change agent, and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Verify corrective and preventive action reports, review software codes, and participate in engineering project reviews.
- Audit and review engineering documents throughout the development lifecycle.
The ideal Quality Assurance Manager candidate will have the following skill set:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in quality assurance, preferably as a Quality Manager or in a similar role.
- Mandatory knowledge of Continuous Improvement and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA).
- Aerospace/Defense experience with a focus on Electronics, Avionics, and Power Distribution is essential.
- Proficiency in AS9100 requirements.
- Experience as a Quality System Lead Auditor.
- Expert understanding of FAA QMS requirements.
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- A&P Certification is preferred but not required.
- Software development experience is a plus but not mandatory.
