Quality Leader required for rapidly growing Weapons Manufacturing/Sporting Good Firm

Job Summary:
A rapidly growing Weapons Manufacturing/Sporting Goods Firm is searching for an experienced Quality Leader to be an integral part in building and developing their quality function. The Quality Manager will be responsible for optimizing production processes while minimizing defects/error in the manufacturing and assembly process. Reporting directly to the COO and working side by side with the Director of Operations, the Manager will oversee a team of 8 to ensure the highest standards of Quality and being practiced throughout the organization.
Responsibilities of the Quality Leader:
- Create and provide QA support to product development and manufacturing team by resolving problems, defects, errors, etc. to ensure each product meets the required specifications
- Generate and maintain quality reports which highlight KPI's and specific areas for improvement
- Establish all quality performance metrics
- Utilize LEAN manufacturing principles such as 5S to foster a world class Quality procedures in all assigned sites.
- Conduct consistent audits to monitor and adhere to specific quality standards
- Determine root cause based off specific product quality issues and implement corrective action to eliminate/reduce cause
- Analyze manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency and quality
- Lead the organization to ensure ISO 9001 compliance is maintained as well as corrective action programs
Qualifications for the Ideal Quality Leader:
- 10+ years of Quality experience in a relevant manufacturing environment
- BS Degree required in Engineering or other Technical field
- Masters degree a plus
- Quality Management certification a plus
- Experience managing cross functional teams over multiple facilities
- Certification as a LEAN/Six Sigma Yellow, Green, or Black belt a plus.
- Strong technical background with a track-record of problem solving and process development
- Experience managing projects across various functions and operations
- Proven ability to implement quality systems to help improve efficiency in multiple facilities
