The Quality Manager oversees the quality control systems within the manufacturing facility. This role involves collaborating with operations to pinpoint and integrate quality enhancements and supporting engineering in developing designs that ensure adherence to food safety and good manufacturing practices (GMP). The individual will ensure that all quality, food safety, and regulatory standards are met and will uphold and maintain food safety and quality protocols through global food safety initiative programs. This role requires a commitment to upholding plant safety, food safety, quality, and environmental standards in all job functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, training, and validation of quality management systems and ensure regulatory and client compliance.
- Oversee and participate in audits, addressing and investigating complaints from internal and external sources.
- Develop and maintain sanitation and product safety programs, manage recall processes, and ensure a safe and high-quality product supply.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality issues and ensure adherence to GMP during construction activities.
- Promote and enforce safety policies across the facility and resolve employee relations issues in partnership with Operations and HR.
- Work with vendors to address noncompliance issues and support the Plant Manager in identifying and addressing technical and leadership gaps.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry).
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in quality control or food safety, including at least 3 years in a leadership or project management role.
- Knowledge of quality regulatory frameworks such as HACCP, FDA, SQF, GFSI, FSMA.
- Experience in designing and delivering training programs.
- Strong management and supervisory abilities.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as required.
