Senior HSE Manager

Reporting to: Director of Operations
Compensation: $80,000-$120,000 + Bonus
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of implementing robust safety systems in manufacturing environments, particularly in food production or seafood processing. This leadership role is critical in ensuring the health, safety, and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company's HSE policies and procedures.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the HSE department, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections within the manufacturing facility to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Provide training and coaching for all staff to promote a safety-conscious culture and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Lead accident investigations and ensure timely reporting to regulatory bodies when required.
- Collaborate with senior management to define and implement strategies to minimize environmental impact, focusing on sustainable practices and waste reduction.
- Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, safety audits, training sessions, and equipment maintenance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of HSE experience, with at least 3 years in a role within a manufacturing or food processing environment (seafood industry experience is a plus).
- Strong knowledge of HSE laws and regulations, with the ability to interpret and apply them effectively in the workplace.
- Proven ability to develop and execute HSE programs and initiatives that drive safety performance improvements.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate a diverse workforce.
