This position is responsible for providing technical and administrative leadership for projects managed by the Engineering Department. The candidate must be capable of working effectively with various inter-departmental teams, including operations staff across locations, as well as external vendors and consultants.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and execute complex, multi-faceted projects.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects, ensuring adherence to budgetary goals and funding requirements.
- Provide expert consultation in the conceptual design, development, and implementation of cost-effective manufacturing process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local engineering regulations and standards.
- Identify technological innovations and emerging trends relevant to manufacturing processes and facilities.
- Interface and negotiate with external vendors and equipment manufacturers to secure the best value for goods and services.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Electrical.
- CAPEX experience with projects $1.5+ million.
- 5-7 years of experience managing technical support teams.
- Familiarity with the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
- Knowledge of the American Meat Institute (AMI) guidelines for sanitary design.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
- In-depth knowledge of food manufacturing facility requirements, with an emphasis on food safety.
- Ability to collaborate across multiple levels of the organization to achieve goals and objectives.
- Experience with regulatory compliance and utility management.
- Background in selecting, sourcing, and installing manufacturing equipment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
