Senior Program Manager needed for Defense Company

A Defense Manufacturing Supplier is looking to add a Senior Program Manager to their subdivision focused on heat transfer solutions utilized in marine, commercial, and industrial markets. They are looking for someone with a technical manufacturing background who will be able to approach this role from a business-minded perspective - focusing on expanding utilizations of this technology to expanding markets.
The Senior Program Manager will have the following responsibilities:
- Provide leadership to program and project team to ensure cooperation across teams and resolve any complications / conflict.
- Manage budgets, schedule, and lead times to ensure that production programs and capacity goals are met.
- Lead bid and proposal activities and sure that requirements of proposal are met for new and existing customers.
- Actively seek new business opportunities with the Business Development Team.
- Allocate and control contract budgets for labor, material, and services.
- Lead lean six sigma efforts within these programs.
- Mentor junior staff and coach on strategic problem solving.
The ideal candidate will have the following skill set:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, or similar field.
- 7+ years of industry experience.
- Experience leading programs through full product lifecycle.
- Knowledge of program management tools and procedures, Program Management Certification preferred.
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience with earned value cost accounting and reporting.
- Knowledge of DoD regulations is strongly preferred.
