As part of their commitment to enhancing water quality and infrastructure in Berlin, we are seeking a Strategic Buyer for Professional Services to join their dynamic team.
Position Overview:
The Strategic Purchaser for Professional Services will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing contracts with service providers in the water industry. This role requires a deep understanding of procurement processes, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate will have experience in the water industry and a passion for improving water infrastructure and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and select vendors for professional services related to the water industry, including consulting, engineering, and construction services.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts with service providers to ensure favourable terms, competitive pricing, and high-quality service delivery.
- Procurement Process: Develop and implement procurement strategies and processes to streamline the acquisition of professional services.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams to understand project requirements and ensure that service providers meet project timelines and specifications.
- Budget Management: Monitor and manage budgets for professional services, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising on quality.
- Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Relationship Building: Foster strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
- Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and new service providers to identify potential opportunities for cost savings and quality improvement.
- Reporting: Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, vendor performance, and project progress to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in PUBLIC procurement, preferably in the water industry or related sectors.
