The company is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Specialist who will develop, lead, and implement sourcing strategies for operational spend categories. The successful candidate will analyze third-party spend to identify sourcing opportunities, evaluate market conditions, and negotiate agreements to support cost savings initiatives.
Strategic Sourcing Specialist Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, engineering, or business administration.
- 5-8 years of work experience specifically in the areas of strategic sourcing and category management supporting operations.
- Extensive knowledge of strategic sourcing and procurement processes and methodologies.
- Proven experience in developing strategic sourcing strategies for operational categories with an emphasis on the MRO and Maintenance Service Categories.
- Experience in preparing and reviewing contracts and negotiating terms.
- Proficiency in the formation and administration of contracts.
- Strong negotiation skills with a proven record of delivering value and results.
- Strong working knowledge in business analysis, market research, financial analysis, and should cost models.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to produce clear and well-organized documents.
- Ability to multitask, manage time, and prioritize tasks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint).
- Proficient in SAP.
Strategic Sourcing Specialist Function:
- Facilitate and lead sourcing initiatives for operational categories.
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies that will create procurement efficiency and cost savings opportunities.
- Facilitate quarterly business review meetings with strategic suppliers.
Strategic Sourcing Specialist Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead sourcing initiatives, including the development and execution of sourcing events; drive selection of suppliers in collaboration with cross-functional teams; conduct supplier negotiations and ongoing supplier management.
- Drive consolidation of spend and seek out synergies across business units by forming and leading cross-functional strategic sourcing teams to develop and implement sourcing strategies.
- Perform business analysis, evaluate market conditions, and negotiate agreements to support cost reduction initiatives.
- Coordinate information flow to all key internal business stakeholders and senior management regarding supplier performance.
- Build collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders as well as strategic relationships with suppliers.
- Develop negotiation strategies, gain alignment from internal stakeholders, lead cross-functional teams, and implement appropriate supplier risk analysis.
- Evaluate external markets for competitive sources of supply, conducting market research and using benchmarking data to qualify potential sources.
- Maintain contract repository for all Master Service Agreements, Consultancy Agreements, and other agreements for the company.
- Work with Legal to review and negotiate contract terms and conditions.
- Ensure efficient post-award administration of contracts, including contractual correspondence and amendments.
