POSITION SUMMARY:
The role of Supply Chain Planner involves managing production planning, commodity utilization, and inventory capacity across designated plant/inventory areas. Key responsibilities include optimizing production schedules, coordinating with various departments to meet customer demands, and ensuring effective communication between field operations, sales, and production facilities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and communicate short-term production plans for commodity utilization and finished goods production. Collaborate with sales, procurement, and production facilities to align product availability with plant capacity.
- Analyze demand trends and coordinate production adjustments to optimize efficiency. Recommend changes to production schedules based on data analysis.
- Manage finished goods inventory levels to meet customer requirements while minimizing financial risk. Monitor inventory metrics and report on a monthly basis.
- Oversee production activities at contracted co-packers, ensuring accuracy in warehouse operations and resolving any discrepancies in production plans.
- Maintain data integrity within the Supply Chain team by documenting weekly and monthly snapshots for analysis. Lead regular cross-functional meetings to ensure alignment.
- Manage aged inventory, providing recommendations for disposition and reporting monthly to support business decisions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE:
- Familiarity with material requirements planning (MRP).
- Principles of production planning and inventory control.
- Effective business communication and report writing skills.
- Basic understanding of mathematics and accounting principles.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
SKILLS:
- Ability to exercise discretion and judgment in demand and inventory planning.
- Strong organizational and execution skills.
- Proficiency in preparing clear and accurate documents and reports.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Competence in using computer software for data analysis and reporting.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of one year of experience in supply chain, production planning, or inventory management.
COMPENSATION:
$74,000-84,000 with a bonus incentive.
