Summary: The Plant Manager will play a pivotal role in the company's Manufacturing Team by overseeing all plant production operations. The Plant Manager will be expected to cross-collaborate with managers of other functions, oversee all plant employees, and track progress to meet goals using LEAN and Six Sigma methodologies.
The Plant Manager should have the following skill set:
- BA or BS required; MBA or master's degree preferred
- 10+ years of dairy production experience (Fluid Milk, Powders, Whey, Cheese, Yogurt, etc.)
- 8+ years of management experience in a dairy manufacturing environment
- Functional knowledge of LEAN and Six Sigma concepts
- Leadership experience in an FDA or USDA manufacturing environment
- HACCP understanding a plus
- Strong financial acumen
- CapEx experience required
- Experience with plant consolidation and/or relocation a plus
- Greenfield project experience strongly preferred
The Plant Manager will:
- Oversee all operations to ensure optimization, quality, safety, and budgetary standards are met
- Spearhead CapEx projects in line with the company's growth trajectory
- Work closely with plant leadership to set daily goals and agendas
- Conduct performance reviews and implement necessary changes
- Lead projects that foster a continuous improvement culture within the facility
- Liaise with FDA and USDA professionals as necessary
- Ensure plant operations uphold OSHA guidelines
- Hire, train, mentor, and discipline a world-class leadership team
- Create and execute strategic initiatives
- Collaborate with relevant parties to develop and implement operational budgets
