Position Overview:
This position is with one of our key clients, who are experts within the Technology and Management Services sector, and are currently undergoing a huge digitalisation overhaul within their procurement function. As they continue to grow the team, they are searching for an IT Purchaser to join their function in Cologne/Bonn.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Management:
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for IT products and services.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure the best possible deals.
- Manage the procurement process from order placement to delivery and installation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations in all procurement activities.
Supplier Relationship Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to quality, delivery, or service.
- Conduct regular supplier evaluations and maintain an updated supplier database.
Inventory and Asset Management:
- Track and manage IT inventory levels to ensure availability of necessary equipment and software.
- Coordinate with the IT department to forecast future IT needs and plan procurement accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records of IT assets and oversee their life cycle management.
Cost Control and Budgeting:
- Monitor and control IT procurement costs to ensure alignment with budgetary constraints.
- Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance.
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting and budgeting.
Market Research and Analysis:
- Stay informed about market trends, new technologies, and advancements in the IT sector.
- Conduct market research to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Provide recommendations to management based on market analysis and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in IT procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain supplier relationships.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
- Strong analytic and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English and German, both written and spoken.
