We are in search of a dynamic Logistics and Planning Manager to join our client's team based near Zaandam, the Netherlands. You will be tasked with overseeing the operations of their largest site in the Netherlands, including all aspects of logistics, supply chain planning, and sales.
Key Responsibilities:
Logistics Management:
Formulate and execute logistics strategies to optimize the transportation, warehousing, and distribution of building materials.
Collaborate with carriers and suppliers to ensure the cost-effective and timely delivery of materials to various locations.
Supply Chain Planning:
Lead the demand forecasting and supply planning process to maintain optimal inventory levels while meeting customer demand.
Monitor inventory turnover and implement strategies to reduce excess stock and minimize shortages.
Team Leadership:
Supervise and inspire a team of logistics, planning and customer service professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to enhance their performance. The role has 3 direct and up to 80 indirect reports.
Cultivate a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the department.
Process Optimization:
Identify opportunities to enhance logistics processes, reduce lead times, and improve supply chain efficiency.
Implement best practices and technology solutions to streamline operations.
Qualifications:
At least 5-8 years of proven experience in logistics and supply chain management, particularly within the building materials or construction industry.
Showcase strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and developing large high-performing teams.
Possess in-depth knowledge of logistics, transportation, and inventory management principles.
Experience in supply chain planning.
Experience in promoting continuous improvement projects.
Fluency in English and Dutch are essential.
