Purchasing Manager Key Responsibilities:
- Devise and execute sourcing strategies ensuring consistent and cost-effective raw material supply.
- 12 years of experience with computers: specifically, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and ERP, inventory, ordering, and tracking systems preferably Microsoft Dynamics AX
- 12 years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints and bills of material (BOM's)
- Identify potential suppliers, conduct evaluations, and negotiate contracts and pricing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to grasp raw material requirements and forecast demand accurately.
- Monitor market trends, industry advancements, and supplier performance to optimize sourcing decisions.
- Maintain precise records of purchases, contracts, and supplier agreements.
- Address supplier issues including quality concerns, delivery delays, and price discrepancies.
- Spearheaded cost-saving initiatives and pinpointed process improvement opportunities within procurement.
- Stay abreast of regulatory requirements and compliance standards pertinent to raw material sourcing.
Purchasing Manager Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience as a raw material buyer or procurement specialist
- Proficient in negotiation and influencing skills to secure favorable terms with suppliers.
- Strong analytical and problem- solving capabilities.
- Skilled in supplier management and contract negotiation.
- Familiarity with procurement software and systems such as ERP and eSourcing platforms.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
- Knowledgeable about industry regulations and compliance standards pertaining to raw material sourcing.
Purchasing Manager Educational Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field is required.
- Mircosoft Dyamnics experience is a plus
- Advanced degrees or certifications in procurement or supply chain management are a plus.
