Our client, a global food manufacturer, is seeking a dedicated and experienced S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) Manager to join their Amsterdam office and drive their operational excellence.
Position Summary: The S&OP Manager will play a pivotal role in aligning our clients' sales and operational efforts to ensure seamless demand planning, inventory management, and supply chain optimization. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong analytical mindset and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to meet our business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
S&OP Process Management:
- Lead the S&OP process to align sales forecasts, production plans, and inventory levels with business objectives.
- Facilitate regular S&OP meetings, ensuring effective communication between sales, marketing, production, and supply chain teams.
- Develop and implement S&OP strategies to optimize service levels, inventory turns, and cost efficiencies.
Demand Planning:
- Oversee demand planning activities, ensuring accurate and timely forecasts.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to gather market intelligence and incorporate it into demand plans.
- Monitor forecast accuracy and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Inventory Management:
- Optimize inventory levels to balance supply with demand while minimizing excess and obsolescence.
- Implement best practices for inventory management and control.
- Monitor and report on inventory KPIs.
Supply Chain Coordination:
- Work closely with the supply chain team to ensure production schedules align with demand forecasts.
- Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain to ensure continuity of supply.
- Develop contingency plans for supply disruptions.
Performance Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze S&OP performance metrics and provide regular reports to senior management.
- Use data-driven insights to recommend improvements and drive decision-making.
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to S&OP processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement across departments.
- Serve as the key point of contact for S&OP-related inquiries and initiatives.
- Drive alignment between commercial and operational teams to achieve business goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in S&OP, demand planning, or supply chain management within the food production industry or a similar field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in S&OP software and tools, as well as advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAPS4/Hana, Oracle) is a plus.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in Dutch or other languages is a plus.
